Private sector Organisations

Profit-oriented. Main objective is to achieve financial gains.

Comprises of sole traders, partnerships, private limited companies (Ltd) and public limited companies (PLC).

Sole traders: Owned and managed by one person. Full control but also carries all risks.

Partnerships: Two or more individuals share the ownership and management. Shared risk and potential for more resources.

Private limited companies (Ltd): Owners have limited liability. Shares cannot be sold to the general public.

Public limited companies (PLC): Shares can be sold to the public, increased potential for raising capital.
Public Sector Organisations

Owned and managed by the government. Objectives include providing public services and ensuring equality.

Includes local authorities, NHS trusts, educational institutions.

Voluntary Sector Organisations

Co-operatives
