With regards to audience interaction, installations are often created for visitors to walk around, interact with or even influence the art.

Light and colour can be used to create mood, highlight specific parts, or change the viewer’s perception of space.
Soundscaping includes the use of audio elements to enhance the atmosphere of the installation.
Interactive elements could include components that react when they are touched, walkthroughs, or even electronic components that the visitor can control or influence.
