Sentence Formation

  • Use word order correctly: In Spanish, the adjective usually comes after the noun, not before. For example, “un billete caro” (an expensive ticket) instead of “caro billete”.

Talking About The Past

  • Remember to use the correct past tense when discussing previous trips or experiences. For example, “Ayer hice un viaje a Madrid” (Yesterday I took a trip to Madrid).
  • For actions in the past that you did regularly or over a period of time, use the imperfect tense. For example, “Yo siempre iba a la playa durante mis vacaciones” (I always used to go to the beach during my holidays).

Adjectives

  • Be able to describe places using a variety of adjectives. For example, “Barcelona es una ciudad muy bonita y vibrante” (Barcelona is a really beautiful and vibrant city).
  • Remember to make the adjective agree with the noun it describes.

Asking and Answering Questions

  • Be able to construct questions about travel and tourism, and to answer questions on this topic. Questions could relate to your own experiences of travelling, or to the tourism industry more generally. For example, you could ask someone if they like to travel, where they have been, or what they thought of a certain place.
  • Examples: “¿Te gusta viajar?” (Do you like to travel?) or “¿Qué pensaste de Barcelona?” (What did you think of Barcelona?).
