Semi-colons and periods
- Semicolons serve the same purpose as periods
- They are used between two complete sentences
- Examples include: “Steve is sixty five; he still runs three miles every day”
- They are used before conjunctive adverbs like “however”, “moreover”, “therefore”
- Examples include: “Steve is sixty five; however, it has many new buildings”, “Steve is sixty five; therefore, he’s stopped running as much as he used to”.
