  • Capability to prepare and read landscape plans and drawings.
  • Implementing landscape transformations, including the ability to select the appropriate plants, materials and layout.

Maintenance and Conservations Techniques

  • Understanding the importance of regular Landscape Maintenance tasks like trimming, mowing, mulching, and watering.
  • Strategies for pest and weed control in various landscape settings, including non-toxic methods and integrated pest management techniques.
  • Ability to restore disturbed landscapes such as mined areas or damaged forests.
  • Familiarity with Conservation Practices like habitat restoration, reforestation, and company compensation schemes.

Sustainability in Landscape Management

  • Recognition of the importance of Sustainable Landscape Practices, such as rainwater harvesting, permeable paving, and the use of native species.
  • Knowledge of the role green spaces play in mitigating climate change by acting as carbon sinks, reducing urban heat islands and flood management.
  • Understanding the benefits and techniques of creating and maintaining wildlife-friendly landscapes.

  • Understanding of Planning Law and Permissions, including what actions require planning permissions.
