  • To say you will travel by car, use Voy a viajar en coche.
  • The phrase for travelling by plane is Voy a viajar en avión.
  • Viajar en tren translates to travelling by train.
  • The Spanish for “on foot” is a pie. If you are hiking, you can say Voy a hacer senderismo.
  • For cruise or boat travellers, use the phrase Voy a viajar en barco.

  • A hotel is referred to as un hotel. To say you’ll stay at a hotel, say Me alojaré en un hotel.
  • A campsite can be referred to as un camping - use Voy a acampar for “I’m going camping”.
  • Albergue is the term for a youth hostel.
  • Holiday home also translates as casa de vacaciones.
  • To rent a house or flat, use Voy a alquilar una casa / un piso.

  • To say you will visit a museum or market you can say Voy a visitar un museo / un mercado.
  • The verb to swim is nadar. If you plan to go swimming, say Voy a nadar.
  • For shopping enthusiasts, the phrase Voy de compras translates to “I’m going shopping”.
  • You can express your intention to sunbathe with Voy a tomar el sol.
  • Cooking classes can be expressed as clases de cocina and a cooking class can be referred to as una clase de cocina.

  • If you are lost, you can say Estoy perdido.
  • If your luggage is lost, say He perdido mi equipaje.
  • To report a stolen wallet, you’d say Me han robado la cartera.
  • If you got sunburnt, express this as Tengo quemaduras de sol.
