Types of Accommodation

  • Familiarise with the various types of accommodation: la casa (the house), l’appartamento (the apartment), il condominio (the condominium), la villa (the villa), la casetta in campagna (the cottage in the countryside).

  • Learn to describe specific features of these accommodations: la camera da letto (the bedroom), il bagno (the bathroom), la cucina (the kitchen), il soggiorno (the living room), il giardino (the garden).

Describing Accommodation

  • Use adjectives to describe accommodations: grande (big), piccolo (small), moderno (modern), vecchio (old), confortevole (comfortable), luminoso (bright).

  • Be able to use phrases that denote location: vicino al/alla (near the), lontano dal/dalla (far from the), di fronte al/alla (in front of the), dietro al/alla (behind the), accanto al/alla (next to the).

Renting and Buying Accommodation

Accommodation Problems

  • Use the conditional to talk about what to do in case of problems: dovrei chiamare (I should call), potrebbe riparare (could fix), vorrei trasferirmi (I would like to move).
