Narratives
- Narratives can be personal or fictional. Ensure your story has a clear beginning, middle, and end.
- Setting the scene is essential. Use descriptive language to bring the story to life.
- Develop your characters well. Describe their physical attributes, personality traits, and behaviours in the narrative.
- Dialogues can make your narrative more realistic. Make sure you use quotation marks. Use colloquial language where appropriate to express natural conversations.
- Keep the past, present, and future tenses clear to allow your reader to follow the chronology of the events.
Accounts

- Start with an introduction that provides a brief overview of the event you are describing.
- Describe the event in chronological order. Useful phrases could be ‘Pada awalnya’ (At first), ‘Kemudian’ (Then), and ‘Akhirnya’ (Finally).
- Highlight the significance of the event, how it affected you or those around you.
Reports
