Aftercare advice for clients
Daily Skin Care Routine:
- Advise the client to cleanse, tone and moisturise their skin twice daily.
- Recommend the use of a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells.
- Emphasise the importance of applying SPF to protect the skin from sun damage.
Use of Products:
- Suggest specific products that suit the client’s skin type and condition.
- Explain how to use the products effectively, including dosage and application.
- Encourage regular changing of products according to the season e.g., more hydrating products in winter.
Healthy Lifestyle:
- Stress on maintaining a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
- Recommend drinking adequate amounts of water to hydrate the skin from the inside.
- Emphasise the importance of regular exercise as it increases blood flow and helps nourish skin cells.
Avoiding Damage:
- Advise client to avoid touching their face unnecessarily to prevent spread of bacteria.
- Caution against excessive sun exposure and recommend wearing wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and SPF when in the sun.
- Suggest limiting alcohol and nicotine intake as they can cause dryness and prematurely aging skin.
Following Treatment Care:
- Instruct the client to keep skin clean and moisturised following the treatment.
- Advise against any vigorous exercise, heat treatments, swimming or sunbathing for at least 24 hours after facial treatment.
- Recommend the client to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment to let the skin breathe.
Maintenance Treatment:
- Suggest a repeat facial treatment every 4-6 weeks, depending on the client’s skin type and condition.
- Advise clients with specific skin issues to visit a dermatologist for professional guidance and treatment.
