Angels in Islam
What are Angels?

Angels are spiritual beings created by Allah from light.
-
They are fully obedient to Allah and can’t commit sins or disobey.

Each angel is created with a specific purpose.
Prominent Angels in Islam

Gabriel (Jibril): Angel of revelation, delivered Allah’s words to the prophets.

Michael (Mikail): Responsible for providing nourishment to bodies and souls.

Israfil: Will blow the trumpet to announce the Day of Judgement.

Azrael: Angel of death, separates people’s souls from their bodies.
Role of Angels

Functions mainly as servants of Allah. They perform a variety of tasks.

They act as messengers, delivering revelations from Allah to chosen individuals, notably the prophets.

Some are guardian angels, guarding the gates of hell and heavens or keep records of human’s deeds.
Angel’s Relationship with Human

They do not have free will, therefore only obey Allah’s commands which includes interaction with humans.

They can take on human form if necessitated by their tasks, for instance Gabriel appeared to Prophet Muhammad in human form.

Muslims believe that every individual has two angels, one recording good deeds (“Kiraman Katibin”) and another recording bad deeds.
